Our Partnership is bringing the local NHS, councils and communities closer together by establishing a Board to strengthen joint working arrangements between all organisations involved, and most importantly to further improve health and care for people living across the area.
The Partnership is one of 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) which cover England to meet health and care needs across an area, coordinate services and plan in a way that improves population health and reduces inequalities between different groups.
We work across a large geographical area and serve a population of 1.7 million people, all with different health and care needs. Our area includes the cities of Hull and York and the large rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
Integrated Care Partnership (ICP)
Integrated Care Partnerships operate as a statutory committee, bringing together the NHS and local authorities as partners to focus more widely on health, public health and social care. ICPs Include representatives from the NHS Integrated Care Board, local authorities and other partners such as NHS providers, public health, social care, and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
ICPs are responsible for an integrated care strategy, setting out how the wider health and wellbeing needs of the local population will be met. Our intention is to extend the responsibilities of the Humber and North Yorkshire ICP to reflect the core aims of the ICS, including improving our population’s health, address inequalities, and contribute to the wider socio-economic challenges we face, such as unemployment and securing inward investment.
