Furthermore, given the events of the last year, we have seen the world of work change dramatically and what has worked successfully in terms of recruitment in the past may not work so well now. 

Whether you’re uncertain about how you should fill your vacancy; where the best place is to advertise to attract good quality candidates; the most effective selection and interview techniques or how to successfully onboard a new recruit – this online, interactive workshop has it all!

Our recruitment experts, Jacqui Adams and Kim McMillan of Tick HR, will talk you through the steps to successful recruiting, share insights from other organisations as to how they manage their recruitment and facilitate discussions, providing you with the opportunity to reflect on your processes and learn from other businesses in attendance.

  • The options for filling your vacancy from permanent full-time basis to apprenticeships and interns
  • Routes to recruitment, including the cost and time of managing the process yourself versus involving a recruitment agency
  • Creating well thought out job descriptions and person specifications
  • Tips for making your job advert stand out from the crowd
  • Good practice guidance on selection and interview techniques
  • Steps for a smooth onboarding and induction process, including compliance considerations.

 

Upon completion of the workshop, you will receive an employment status guide and a new starter checklist, as well as a job description and person specification template.

About the Presenters

Jacqui Adams, MBA

Jacqui is a business focussed HR Director with over 20 years’ experience, delivering proactive HR services by providing generalist, operational, consultative and strategic HR support. She gained her experience in the technology sector. Now with Tick HR, she is working with different organisations in a variety of sectors, which has added further depth to her knowledge and expertise. 

 

Kim McMillan, MSc. MCIPD

Kim is a highly motivated and well organised HR Consultant with experience of working within both private and public sectors, including a FTSE 250 company. Experienced in a variety of HR tasks such as, recruitment, employee engagement, compliance, performance management and strategic planning. This experience means that she has worked with all levels of people from different cultures and organisational backgrounds.

To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Am I eligible?

The workshop is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).
