Proud Carnival sponsors
Hinkley Point C is proud to have been confirmed as the main sponsors of Bridgwater Carnival.
Nigel Cann, Hinkley Point C’s Delivery Director, said: Like Hinkley Point B before us, Hinkley Point C will be part of this community, and its celebrations, for a generation. I know that many of our staff are themselves personally involved in the unique spectacle of Carnival and it is a real privilege to be playing our part in this year’s event. I’m looking forward to seeing the carts light up the streets of Bridgwater once again.

Polar Crane Beams arrive
The Polar Crane Beams for Hinkley Point C's Unit 1 reactor building have arrived on site after making their way from Switzerland. The beams came via the Rhine and Rotterdam before being delivered into Combwich Wharf and moved up the C182 by a police escort. These beams form part of the large crane that will operate inside the reactor building playing a crucial role in maintaining and refuelling the nuclear reactor during operations. Once assembled, Big Carl will lift the entire 800-tonne crane into the reactor building, forming one of the last pieces of the jigsaw before the reactors domed roof is lifted and placed on top.

Proposed Cycleway Public Consultation
Hinkley Point C has been considering a proposal for the development of a shared use cycle path running from Combwich to Hinkley Point. It would provide a sustainable commuting route for all Hinkley Point workers whilst also providing wider local value – offering an enjoyable route for leisure purposes. The route would further connect the existing cycle route along the C182 from Combwich towards Cannington and Bridgwater. Before the application is submitted, we will be running public consultation events to discuss the proposal and consider local views. Full details of the proposal, events, a Q&A and the consultation questionnaire can be found here

Site Chaplain leads on site service
During the period of National mourning Hinkley Point C held a short service to honour the life of Queen Elizabeth II led by Site Chaplain Ewen Huffman. The service took place on the 15th September within the training building on site and included a full site broadcast that reflected on the life and service of the Queen as well as recognising our new Sovereign, King Charles III. As a project we support our workforce through our Chaplains and a team of over 400 mental health buddies encouraging those who need to talk to get in touch.
