Ways you can get involved
  • Light up your business in green or create a Derbyshire Day menu or special offer.

Recovery Loan Scheme extended for 2 years
RLS
The Recovery Loan Scheme supports access to finance for businesses as they grow and recover from the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The maximum amount of finance available will be £2 million per business and the scheme will only be open to small and medium sized enterprises. The guarantee coverage that the government will provide to lenders will be reduced to 70%.

Full details of the scheme are available on GOV.UK.
More SMEs and microbusinesses now eligible for Help to Grow: Digital
Help to Grow
Help to Grow: Digital is a government backed, UK-wide scheme that supports eligible SMEs to choose, buy and integrate software into their business.

Businesses with 1 to 249 employees can now receive discounts worth up to £5,000 on approved software under an expansion of the Help to Grow: Digital scheme. The scheme was previously only open to those businesses with more than 5 employees.

New guidance on employment status for workers and businesses
gov
New guidance published by the government aims to provide businesses and workers with greater clarity over employment status and the rights and employment protections people are entitled to at work, including pay, leave and working conditions.

The guidance will help smaller businesses that have less capacity and legal expertise to understand the law and reduce the risk of companies being fined for unknowingly breaking the rules. Workers can also see what rights they are entitled to at work and will be able to have informed discussions with their employer and take steps to claim or enforce rights where necessary.
Accessibility Champions Scheme
MPD&D
The Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire Accessibility Champions scheme has been designed to help tourism and hospitality businesses deliver ‘a warm and inclusive welcome for visitors with additional access needs’.

Through a series of webinars, the scheme covers topics including hearing loss, sight loss, mobility impairment, autism and dementia, highlighting the barriers faced by visitors with access needs and providing businesses with practical tips on how they can overcome them.

Businesses who successfully complete the scheme, which is delivered by Derbyshire-based industry experts Access For All UK, receive official ‘Accessibility Champion’ status, identifying them as one of the most accessible and inclusive tourism businesses in the country.

Local tourism and hospitality businesses can sign up to the next cohorts of the scheme, which will take place on:
