Welcome to your June/July stakeholder update |
Dear stakeholders,
Our flexibility services team had a fantastic time at The Flexibility Summit North West in Salford in June. Our Distribution System Operation (DSO) Commercial Lead, Paul George, provided an overview of our current requirements and explained how North West businesses can get started on their flexibility services journey to maximise revenue and provide energy security to the grid, whilst helping them achieve their decarbonisation goals. If you are an energy manager or major energy user and are interested in finding out more about flexibility services opportunities in your area, please get in touch with our team at flexible.contracts@enwl.co.uk.

We were proud to headline sponsor the Northern Sustainability Summit on 8 July. Rachael Parr, our People & Corporate Services Director, and Dan Shanley our Net Zero Carbon Manager spoke at the event and our colleagues were there to meet with attendees on both our Electricity North West and Take Charge exhibition stands. This year the focus of the event was on making sustainability work for businesses, with sessions looking at attracting eco-conscious consumers, accessing finance, reporting and offsetting, the role of infrastructure and the green industrial revolution.
This month we share details of Electricity North West Women's Career Day – an opportunity to discover exciting career opportunities and get inspired by successful women who already work here. Held at our state of the art Training Academy in Blackburn, you can find out more and register here.

| Will your organisation make the Bee Net Zero commitment? |
Greater Manchester has never been a region to shy away from a challenge, which is why we’re working towards becoming the UK's leading green city region with ambitious decarbonisation targets. |
|
|
Now we’re asking organisations from all sectors to join us on the journey and commit to Bee Net Zero.
Businesses are responsible for a huge amount of the region’s carbon emissions. As the world’s first industrial city, we feel it's now our responsibility to lead the transition to net zero.
To learn more, make the commitment and learn about the support available, find more out about the commitment here. |

Greater Manchester is taking steps towards adopting Vision Zero, which aims to eliminate all deaths and life-changing injuries on the region’s roads by 2040.
The first of two feedback surveys launched earlier this year and people shared their experiences on the roads of Greater Manchester including things they would like to see improved. This feedback, alongside proposed activity from partners, has shaped the draft Vision Zero Action Plan. This Action Plan will help guide activity to achieve Greater Manchester’s ambition of zero fatalities and life-changing injuries on GM roads by 2040. |
