There is still time to have your say

There are just four days left for you to let us have your views on our proposal to consolidate a small number of more complex medical, urgent and emergency care and paediatric (children’s) services at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, rather than across two hospital sites in Grimsby and Scunthorpe General Hospital.
Our public consultation on the proposal was launched in September and ends on 5 January. We have held a total of 43 different events, answered hundreds of questions and engaged with more than 1500 people over the past 14 weeks. In addition, thousands of people have completed an online questionnaire or shared their views in another way.
There are now just four days remaining for you to fill in your consultation questionnaire.
NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) Director for North Lincolnshire, Alex Seale, said: "Over the last few months we've had the privilege of meeting hundreds of people in a wide range of community venues, explaining our proposal and listening to what people have had to say.
"I want to thank everyone who has taken the opportunity to attend one of our exhibitions, drop-in or online events, and those who have simply studied the proposal on our website before providing feedback.”

Group Chief Medical Officer with Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, Kate Wood, added: "Our hospital services face significant challenges so we must make some changes – we cannot stand still and keep things as they are. But it is equally important we make the right changes that bring about the best outcomes for our patients and staff, which is what this consultation can help us to do.”

| After the consultation closes |

| What happens next? | Once the consultation closes on 5 January, all the information and feedback we’ve received will be collated, analysed and compiled into a report by an independent research organisation called Opinion Research Services (ORS).
Their report will summarise what the public and all our stakeholders have told us and it will be published early in 2024 as part of the Decision-Making Business Case for consideration by the NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Boad (ICB).
The ICB will consider the views and evidence provided during this public consultation alongside other material information – such as changes to policy, regulations or clinical standards and any updated activity or workforce modelling – before making our decision on how these services should be delivered in the future.
We anticipate making this decision in the Spring 2024. The Decision-Making Business Case will be made public through the Integrated Care Board website | |
