"Inspiring our Future" Careers Summit

Dear Colleague,

You’re invited to a special Careers Summit Event, “Inspiring our Future” on Monday 23rd April, 10.45 – 16.15 at Middlesbrough Football Club.

The Tees Valley Combined Authority has entered into a devolution deal with central government to work together to develop a strategic approach to Education, Employment and Skills for Tees Valley. The Combined Authority has recently approved the Education, Employment and Skills Strategy, Inspiring Our Future. This strategy clearly sets out six key priorities for action.

In order to further develop two of these priorities we would like to invite you to a planning event to inform the delivery plan for creating an inspiring Tees Valley Careers and Enterprise Initiative. This strategic planning session will be held on the 23rd April 2018, at Middlesbrough Football Stadium 10.45am arrival, event will close at 4.15pm.

The purpose of this planning session is to:

1. Define the ask of pupils, schools and businesses for an inspirational Tees Valley Careers Education and Enterprise initiative
2. Explore how we will increase employer engagement and influence in careers education across Tees Valley
3. Inform the role of the Combined Authority and the available funding
4. Consider the support required for schools to achieve the National Careers Strategy intentions
